The wider Blouberg region is settled on the Western Seaboard of Cape Town. This west coast area is booming and bulging with developments and includes Bloubergstrand, Big Bay, West Beach, Tableview, Sunningdale and Parklands. It offers the best of both worlds, being close to the city and popular V&A Waterfront (20km) but also offering some of the most pristine beaches you will find in the Western Cape. Almost all the iconic images of Cape Town's Table Mountain have been photographed from these beaches. Blouberg beach also looks onto Robben Island (7km offshore) where Nelson Mandela and other political role players were imprisoned. International Kite Surfing Competitions, old school surfing, SUP's, jet ski and rubber duck competitions are some of the popular outdoor activities and attracts participants from all over the world. Eden on the Bay is a popular modern waterfront with shops, restaurants and apartments. Various shopping villages in the surrounds, good schools and a prominent Netcare medi-clinic on the main road. Residences vary from modern beach villas and freestanding homes to designer penthouses and waterfront apartments, apartment blocks, town houses and security estates -- many with spectacular views over the Atlantic Ocean.
